Here is a list of prediction, prophecies, and forecasts taken from the Wikipedia article about the year 2012:
2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or apocalypse). Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth B’ak’tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.
Accordingly, several eclectic authors claim that a major, world-changing event will take place in 2012:
* The 1995 book The Mayan Prophecies linked the Maya calendar with long-period sunspot cycles.
* The book 2012: Mayan Year of Destiny claims the Maya may have been instructed in their wisdom by disembodied entities from Orion and the Pleiades. Contact was maintained through shamanic rituals conducted in accordance with the movements of planets and stars. However, some Mayan priests living and working in Guatemala assert that there is no legitimacy to this theory.
* The 1997 book The Bible Code claims that, according to certain algorithms of the Bible code, a meteor, asteroid or comet will collide with the Earth.
* The book The Nostradamus Code speaks of a series of natural disasters caused by a comet (possibly as above) that will allow the third Antichrist to disperse his troops around the globe under the guise of aid in preparation for a possible nuclear war, although in the strictest sense it is unspecific as to nuclear war or some other natural or man caused destruction.
* The book The Orion Prophecy claims that the Earth’s magnetic field will reverse.
* The 2005 book Beyond 2012: Catastrophe or Ecstasy by Geoff Stray reviews several theories, prophecies and predictions concerning 2012 and finds where authors have used faulty information or have bent the truth to fit their theories.
* The 2006 book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck discusses theories of a possible global awakening to psychic connection by the year 2012, creating a noosphere.
* The 2007 book Apocalypse 2012: A Scientific Investigation into Civilization’s End by Lawrence Joseph does not make any specific new predictions, but it reviews a number of 2012 predictions made by various sources, and presents arguments for the possible existence of dangerous positive feedback loops involving solar storms, Earth’s magnetic field, cosmic rays, hurricanes, global warming, earthquakes, and supervolcanoes that may be on the verge of erupting.
Other prophecies and apocalyptic writings and hypotheses for this year include:
* Terence McKenna’s mathematical novelty theory suggests a point of singularity in which humankind will go through a great shift in consciousness.
* Some proponents of a peak oil catastrophe place major events in 2012. Richard C. Duncan’s book The Peak of World Oil Production and the Road To The Olduvai Gorge claims that the Olduvai cliff will begin and permanent blackouts will occur worldwide. Several studies predict a peak in oil production in or around 2012. [13][14][15]
* Some alien-enthusiasts (e.g. Riley Martin), along with some new-agers, believe 2012 to correspond approximately with the return of alien “watchers” or “caretakers” who might have helped the first human civilizations with developing their technology and may have been waiting for us to reach a higher level of technological and/or social advancement. Beliefs range from the extra-terrestrials having benevolent purposes — such as to help human society evolve — to malevolent purposes — such as enslavement of mankind and/or manipulation.
* There is a Hindu following indicating the appearance of an Avatar (God in human form) with God-like powers who will herald a new age. A website to this effect appears at: End of the World 2012.

I actually don’t believe it at all. People are just freaking out. When my teacher was in high school, he said that something like 2012 was supposed to happen and basically their computers would stop working and all this other stuff would happen. And when their computers did stop working, nothing bad happened. So, what do you think will happen in 2012?
The Mayan all about this, but they were like 3,000 years ago, while Jesus was 2,000. Did God come down to save us from this. Why did he come after the Mayans? What will happen 2012 and why?

The Mayans predicted that the year 2012 will be the end of life on the planet. Also, a number of experts throughout the world predict that all organic life on earth will face culmination on doomsday December 21, 2012. While some believe that the ultimate culmination could be due to human acts, others believe that it could be due to some natural phenomenon such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and the like.

Solar storms have been entering the earth with lots of radiation, and consequently, they knock the power grids off and destroy satellites. It is predicted that this particular activity will get even worse and reach its peak in December 2012. Volcanic eruptions are also predicted to be the major natural disaster that will end the life on earth. It is specifically the Yellowstone volcano, which has an erupting pattern for every 650,000 years and whose pressure is building continuously, that geologists foresee to exhibit a massive bang in the year 2012.
But even if scientific calculations anticipate that the earth will face major destruction in the year 2012, or even with the potential end of the world hanging over our heads, the first thing we can always do is to be prepared.
We are always at risk of natural disasters, from tornadoes and hurricanes, to earthquakes and floods. But if a disaster occurs, we should be able to survive at home for days or even weeks. Make sure that you have enough food and water, as well as medicines or other necessities that will sustain you for several weeks without outside contact. You should also develop an emergency plan for your home. However, some disasters may require that you abandon your home. Make sure that you are ready to go mobile for these types of disasters too.
But perhaps the best thing we can do during disasters is to be kind to each other. Simple acts of kindness may be out best safety net. If doomsday December 21, 2012 does arrive, we need to work together to ensure our survival. As the famous line goes, “No man is an island.” We need each other in order to survive.

Every 11 years violent storms on the surface of the Sun cause massive amounts of energy – in the form of protons and electrons – to be thrown out into space. After a few days, this energy reaches our planet, interferes with the planet’s magnetic field and generates huge currents – even more in the polar regions. These induced currents can subsequently induce massive surges in (power distribution) transmission lines, damaging transformers and causing high-amplitude harmonics.
With jet airliners coming to depend ever more heavily on electronic systems for vital functions, their vulnerability to EMI poses a potentially lethal threat to air safety. The uniformity of the region in which the accidents occurred suggests that the region itself – the environment external to the (air)plane – should be included among the causes to be investigated.
EMI could be another lurking surprise. For this reason alone, perhaps it should be included in the structured process that is part of every accident investigation. Aircraft maintenance, atmospheric weather (windshear, icing, fog, etc.), and other factors routinely are examined in detail, even if their relationship to the initially suspected probable cause is problematic.
Perhaps EMI should be considered as a form of “electronic weather.” Three aspects pertain: “space weather,” such as the 11-year sunspot cycle, at its peak now, that could affect navigation systems and radios; EMI from ground and airborne sources; and finally, interference from portable electronic devices carried by passengers in the cabin. In all three cases, the literature is growing about unwanted electrical interference and system malfunctions. Heaven forbid that EMI should someday bring down an inadequately shielded “electrified” jet loaded with passengers (or has it already?), but the industry has been caught off guard in other areas. The Air France crash had again raised fears about the aircraft’s susceptibility to electromagnetic interference. “It was flying through or close to a thunderstorm and lightning. The high static charge from thunderstorm clouds can cause electromagnetic interference. It could be that if the A330 is more vulnerable to electromagnetic interference, it could have caused the pilots to lose control of the aircraft during severe turbulence.” The black box would only emit signals for 30 days. But the Atlantic search area between the coasts of Brazil and Africa remains vast and depths range from 3,000 to 6,000 meters, with currents so strong that the box might never be found. A month after the Air France crash, a Yemeni airliner with 153 people on board has crashed in the Indian Ocean near the Comoros islands, northwest of Madagascar.
Science has made humans to live longer. But more scientific development is damaging nature and also becoming responsible for more deaths. A 1994 NASA study contains an appendix in which individual pilots summarize incidents caused by electromagnetic interference. How does an autopilot disconnect in situations of electromagnetic interference? NASA researchers are pointing out that the disconnecting of the autopilot, whether executed by the autopilot itself or by the real pilot, becomes necessary to the plane’s survival (since the autopilot is starting to put the plane on a disastrous course). But, at the same time, that act of disconnecting is itself an especially hazardous event. Up to that moment, the autopilot has been receiving false instructions (such as an adjustment to the elevators, or a deflection of the rudder) but if the errant instruction is incompatible with safe flying, the autopilot will simultaneously start compensating for the false command with balancing counteractions. When suddenly the autopilot is turned off, the human pilots are abruptly confronted with a set of events that may be confusing, and there may not be time either to correct or to undo the compensatory settings on other control surfaces.
Conclusion: flying becomes more and more dangerous. The mystery of what is about to happen in 2012 keeps growing and we all start to be confronted with it more and more in every day life. How much longer can governments keep its people in the unknown?

One of the many theories about the phenomenon known as just ‘2012′ is that all the planets of our solar system will line up on December 21′st 2012, which coincidentally is also the end of the current cycle in the mysterious Mayan calendar. Apparently this alignment of the planets will lead to one of two things depending on who you ask. Either the beginning of a new age or the destruction of our world! Since the latter option is rather unpleasent, perhaps we should try to find out if the planets line up in 2012!
Some people believe that when the planets of the solar system lines up, it marks the beginning of a new era. The last time the planets were aligned seem to be around 450 years ago, which amazingly coincide with the period in history known as the ‘Age of Enlightenment’. This era produced perhaps more geniuses than any other period of time, dragging humanity out of the dark ages and introducing modern science, astronomy, medicine and liberty. It’s safe to say, that had it not been for the Age of Enlightenment thinkers, we would be much worse off. The next planetary alignment should be due really soon, but will the effect be the same? Will the planets line up in 2012 and will it lead to a new golden age for humanity? Astrologers think so. This new era; the Age of Aquarius, will be the pinnacle of human evolution according to them.
A more sinister prediction is that the alignment of the planets will simply lead to the destruction of our world as we know it. The gravitational force of the planets, perhaps in conjunction with Planet X, will lead to the earth’s poles shifting from North to South and altering the rotation of the planet, causing earthquakes, volcanos and tsunamis. It may even make the oceans so hot, that they begin to boil.
The 2012 predictions are not easy to figure out. What is fact and what is myth? In the book 2012 Contact, I believe the author has managed to include as much information as is available. It also includes a survival guide, which may come in handy. I suggest you check it out! Also see my hub for more info.
A ten minute message on the facts about the coming of the Mahdi(Guided One), Dajjal(Anti-Christ) and PlanetX. A message to compare the Hadith(Sayings of The Prophet) and Planet X whether they are the same events that will take place on Earth. Planet X was predicted to occur around 2012. The question is, Will it occur? And will the events foretold in the Hadith be the same as planet X? Let’s find out. Calculation of the coming of Dajjal: GOD said in the Qur’an,”One day on the sight of your Lord is as a thousand years of your reckoning.” 1day=1000/1=1000yrs 1day=1000/12mon=83.33yrs 1day=1000/52wk=19.23yrs Dajjal will deceive on Earth for 40days a day like a year, a day like a month and a day like a week. A day like a year was a period of 1000yrs, a day like a month was a period of 83.33yrs and a day like a week will be a period of 19.23yrs according to the above calculation. Dajjal has already completed his 2nd day of 40days and is currently on his 3day like a week mission systematically for 19.23yrs. His 3rd day started on 9/11/01 So 2001+19.23=2020 if the calculation is right then 2020 will be the appearance of Dajjal.
The year 2012 comes from the Mayan calendar, a complex system that are used together in order to determine events. The Mayan calendar is considered the most accurate calendar developed – its intricate system depicts time in cycles.
The cycle relevant to the 2012 date is the Great Cycle at 5125.36 years. December 21, 2012, marks the end of the current 5125.36 year cycle.
2012 also marks the end of a longer 26000 year cycle. It is also the last date accounted for in the Mayan calendar. As a result, 2012 is presumed to be the end – of everything, or everything as we know it.
Among the apocalyptic predictions for 2012 are natural disasters like geomagnetic reversal – one such prediction was attributed to the Celtic shaman Merlin, who said that when people in different countries could speak to each other in a “stone,” then the seas and winds would rise and the world’s paths would change.
A geomagnetic reversal is actually overdue in terms of the earth’s geomagnetic cycle, or which could be caused by a solar flare. There is some debate whether a geomagnetic reversal will affect much more than electromagnetic instruments, however.
There is also a prediction that a large planet called Nibiru will collide with Earth at that time. Astronomers refute this claim by saying that any planet that would collide with us so soon would be visible.
The 2012 date also crops up in novelty theory, also called Timewave Zero. Thomas McKenna theorized that interconnectedness, also known as organized complexity, in the universe is determined by an ebb and flow that will culminate to the December 21, 2012, date. At this time, all things possible or conceived will occur at once.
There are end-of-the-world predications from the Hopi Indians and the Cumean Sybil that the 2012 date would end in global catastrophes such as the sun growing unbearably hot, the seas rising, a great war breaking out, ashes covering the sky, and earthquakes adding to the destruction.
The Book of Revelation holds similar imagery for the end of the world, the Last Days during which the world as we know it is finally destroyed to bring about the new utopian millennium.
A prediction attributed to the Mother Shipton, an English oracle, says that when men are able to do things better than anything natural, such as fly faster than birds, when pictures move, when ships move under the sea, then the world will end in blood.
Nostradamus predicted that the October before the 2012 would see the skies turning black before earthquakes, wars and other extreme events.
Many end of the world scenarios do envision destruction with this kind of similar language, and the 2012 date or dates close to the end times according to the Mayan calendar seems too coincidental.
Gordon Leon a Survivalist, Futurist & Author stumbled across the 2012 Planet X phenomenon in 2007 while researching abnormal weather patterns around the globe.
After much investigation he found the majority of the indigenous people and ancient prophecies such as the Mayans, Hopi Indians, Nostradamus, and the Bible, all reaching the same conclusion.
There will be significant Earth and climate changes that will affect us all; what was most disturbing to Gordon was the fact that nobody had come up with a plausible solution to these problems, being an accomplished survivalist and futurist he decided to write an engaging two part book on how to survive the coming disasters of 2012.
